David Bowie rubbishes Glastonbury rumours
David Bowie has dismissed rumours suggesting that he is considering an offer to perform at the 2010 Glastonbury festival.
The Daily Mail reported that the veteran singer-songwriter had received an approach to make a third appearance at Glastonbury, despite not having played live since 2004.
Bowie, known for playing a Takamine 12-string acoustic guitar in his live shows, has, however, issued an emphatic denial.
A statement on his official website read: "Sadly, there is absolutely no substance to this story."
Glastonbury's organisers have already confirmed that U2 will headline on Friday night at the 2010 festival.
Speculation about who will fill the headline slots on the other two nights is rife, but with Bowie having ruled himself out, the focus is now on The Rolling Stones and Muse.
