David Bowie tops album chart again
It has sold 94,000 copies in a week, according to the Official Chart Company, outselling the next highest album, Bon Jovi's ‘What About Now', two to one.
When Bowie released the single ‘Where Are We Now', followed by the subsequent album in January, it came as a huge surprise to fans worldwide as everyone involved in making the album was sworn to secrecy.
Bowie first came to public attention in 1969 with the single ‘Space Oddity' at the age of 22, now 66-years-old this is his 25th album to date and his first number one since ‘Black Tie White Noise' in 1993.
The news coincides with the opening of an exhibition, at the V&A in London, about his influence on the music industry in his nearly fifty-year career. Fans may have more to look forward to as Bowie's wife Iman hinted last week that he may, despite his own denials, go on tour soon.
