Dawsons Music store raided in Manchester
One of Manchester's largest music stores, Dawsons, has been the victim of attacks during recent rioting in the city.
A manager of Dawsons Music in Manchester spoke to the BBC about the destroyed store and walking in to it the morning after the carnage.
Operations manager Trina Rance told reporters that the store was a "bombsite".
Vandals had completely ruined some musical instruments, while others had been stolen.
One of the most badly damaged instruments was £14,000 grand piano.
Staff from Dawsons as well as generous members of the public managed to clear the devastation within hours, and managed to open the store for business.
Trina put their continuing good spirits down to the fact that they worked in music, a very positive environment.
"We're very proud of our store so the natural reaction was, 'right, we need to get this moved and let's get back on with what we do', which is serving people with musical instruments," she said.
CCTV caught one individual carrying an electric guitar from the shop that still had the price tag attached to it.
In London over 1,000 people have so far been arrested and 600 charged in connection with the riots.
Everyone at Gear4music.com gives their full support to staff at Dawsons Music, and anyone else affected by the recent riots.
