Delphic star hails early Casio keyboard
A Casio keyboard has been credited with helping an emerging musician on the path to stardom.
According to Rick Boardman of Delphic, he was given a Casio keyboard when he was a youngster.
He then proceeded to learn The Model by Kraftwerk on the instrument, thus triggering a long-standing interest in music.
"This is going to sound really cool, as if I've made it up, and the rest of the band hate me for this, but I have very cool parents," he commented.
Delphic, who have already appeared at major festivals including T in the Park, Reading and Leeds, have now been tipped for stardom by the BBC in its Sound of 2010 list.
Indeed, they have already secured some valuable media exposure, including an appearance on Later with Jools Holland.
Speaking to BBC 6 Music, Boardman said he hopes the band can live up to the hype they are attracting at the moment and continue to get better.Posted on 6 Jan 2010 20:00 to category : Instruments News
