Dexys take their new show to the West End
The band, formerly known as Dexys Midnight Runners, had their biggest success in the 1980s, with their single Come on Eileen hitting the top of the charts on both sides of the Atlantic.
And now they have announced that their new tour will see them play shows with a difference.
The band said their One Day I'm Going To Soar shows were not suited to traditional music venues, and required a theatrical setting to allow the audience to get the most out of the event.
Kevin Rowland, Pete Williams, Big Jim Paterson, Mick Talbot, Lucy Morgan, Madelaine Hyland et al will perform the album One Day I'm Going To Soar in order and in full at the Duke Of York's Theatre on St Martin's Lane in London across ten different dates starting on April 15th.
A statement about the etiquette of the night from the band told fans to "Look good, we will," suggesting that the theatrical setting will not be the only West End tradition they buy into.
