Diploma 'opportunity' for bass players
And now the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance is reminding bass players that it runs a Higher Diploma in their instrument.
Its website, where the course can be applied for, reveals that it has a strong emphasis on playing, while allowing the exploration of a variety of genres.
"A place on the course continues to be an aspirational goal for young musicians," boast the institute of the diploma, which has a duration of a single year.
Diplomas in drums, singing and guitar are also available, it states.
The institute is apparently offering to pay for one lucky bass player's tuition. Music instrument players have until tomorrow – March 13th – to apply for the scholarship.
As the institute put it: "This is a fantastic opportunity to win a free place on one of the most prestigious bass courses in Europe."
If they're not the chosen one, they could still be awarded £2,500 or half their fee. One such prize is being given, on top of the main £5,000 scholarship.
The institute have associated with Ernie Ball Musicman for the scheme.
