Drummers set to pay tribute to John Bonham
A host of famous drummers are to pay tribute to the legacy of Led Zeppelin star John Bonham next month.
Two gigs have been organised by Whitesnake drummer Brian Tinchy for January 12th and 13th 2011, with the first event taking place in West Hollywood and the second in Anaheim.
Among the stars to confirm their attendance at the shows are Steven Adler from Guns N' Roses, Black Sabbath star Vinny Appice and Chad Smith, the man behind the drum kit in the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Tinchy revealed the shows will be named Bonzo: The Groove Remains The Same and said he hoped they would be a fitting celebration of the influence of the Led Zeppelin man.
He added that practice for the events is going well so far.
"The communal spirit of the rehearsals and show bonded us and solidified the common reasons why we all chose drumming as a way of life," Tinchy explained.
Earlier this year, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl narrated a BBC 6 Music documentary examining the life of Bonham, who passed away at the age of 32 in 1980.
The show featured contributions from both Robert Plant and Jimmy Page.
