Dylan artwork to go on show at Gagosian Gallery in New York

Folk singer's artwork of time spent in Asia to be shown in New York later this month.

Guitar legend Bob Dylan is to put down his music instrument for only a short period of time later this month as he opens up a new exhibition of his artwork in the US. The folk superstar is showcasing a series of paintings and drawings known collectively as the Asia Series at the Gagosian Gallery in New York. In a press release, the gallery said the show would feature "firsthand depictions of people, street scenes, architecture and landscape," and "cryptic paintings often of personalities and situations." The images were created in-between performances in Asia earlier this year. Dylan performed in Japan, China, South Korea and Vietnam. It's a busy time for the singer-songwriter as next month he kicks of his short seven-day UK and Ireland tour, as well as dealing with legal matters. Along with Bryan Adams and Tom Petty, Dylan has filed legal papers with the US copyright office in a bid to assert control over the rights to his music.
