Eavis: Glastonbury may finish
The legendary Glastonbury Festival may only have a few years left, suggests the organiser.
Michael Eavis explained that this was down to routine as much as the huge financials involved.
He told the Times that festivals in general had reached their peak for now as people had seen it all before.
The experience of a festival has lost its buzz.
Speaking to the Times he said that he gave it another three to four years.
"Womad and Latitude are not selling out," he said.
Eavis also revealed that the festival has not always been a financially sound event and has suffered from huge financial problems, especially in 2008.
He said: "We sell out only because we get huge headliners. In the year Jay-Z played we nearly went bankrupt."
There have been a total of 30 Glastonbury Festivals since it launched in 1970.
Over the years the festival has played host to some of the biggest names in the music business.
These have included Primal Scream, David Bowie, Coldplay, Kings of Leon and Paul McCartney, all rocking their respective music instruments on stage to thousands of cheering fans.
