Eavis hails successful Glastonbury Festival

The organiser of the Glastonbury Festival has admitted that topping it next year could be a tall order.

Speaking after the event, Michael Eavis said plans for next year are already being worked on, but acknowledged he may find it hard to improve on what was on offer this time round.

"I seriously don't think that we can ever do it better than we have this year," Eavis commented.

However, he has been hit with a £3,000 fine after Bruce Springsteen played his Fender Telecasterfor longer than planned on Saturday night.

The show ran nine minutes beyond the scheduled curfew, but Eavis said paying the fine was worth it because those "nine minutes were absolutely spectacular".

Springsteen treated the crowd in Somerset to two and a half hours of hits including Dancing in the Dark and Born To Run.
