Editors drummer: Band ready to start work on new material
Ed Lay, the man behind the drum kit in indie group Editors, has revealed the band are close to starting working on their next record.
Speaking to BBC 6 Music, Lay stated that Editors are looking forward to writing new material "as soon as possible" and revealed lead singer Tom Smith has already put together two demo tracks.
The drummer said the band feel they can improve on their songwriting as they look to follow up latest record In This Light and On This Evening.
He added they will begin work on the next album once their current touring commitments come to a close.
"We actually only have one show on the 10th September with Muse in Berlin and then we are ready," Lay stated.
Editors performed at last weekend's V Festival, on a bill that also featured acts such as Kings of Leon, Kasabian, Paul Weller, The Prodigy and Pet Shop Boys.
