Electric guitar band The Strokes 'struggling for unity'
The Strokes are still struggling to work as a band, one of its members has said.
Nick Valensi, who plays electric guitar and said his favourite instrument is an Epiphone Riviera with Gibson P-94 pick-ups, told MySpace Music there is still "undertones of hostility and resentment" in the group.
On March 21st, the five-piece will release fourth album Angles, which is the follow-up to 2006's release First Impressions of Earth.
"When we hang out and when we work on stuff, it's great but I'd be lying if I said there wasn't elements of hostility there," he added.
Valensi observed because of the gap between records, it will be virtually impossible to please fans.
He added he hopes to speed up the recording process in the future to make sure they are releasing songs with more regularity - it has taken them ten years to release four albums.
Angles is going to be different from other Strokes albums, as everyone was involved in writing songs this time around, instead of just singer Julian Casablancas.
This means Valensi had the opportunity to indulge his creative forces while making it.
