Electric guitar group Interpol launch new track
Electric guitar band Interpol have given fans a taste of their forthcoming album with the release of a new track.
Barricade, the second single from their self-titled new record, has been made available on the iTunes store.
Followers of the band may be interested to hear how the New Yorkers sound following the departure of original bass guitar player Carlos Dengler earlier this year.
He has been replaced by Dave Pajo, a musician known for his work with indie groups such as Slint and Zwan.
Reviewing the track, Spin magazine said it is "classic Interpol".
It added: "[The song is] dark and introspective, full of heavy rhythms, sharp guitar riffs and frontman Paul Banks' wailing vocals."
The release of Barricade follows the launch of the album's first single Lights, which is available to stream on the band's official website.
Formed in 2007, Interpol have previously released three albums - Turn On The Bright Lights, Antics and Our Love To Admire.
Critics have often compared their electric guitar sound to British post-punk groups such as Joy Division and The Chameleons.Posted on 13 Jul 2010 16:10 to category : Band / Celebrity News
