Electric guitar players 'have to start somewhere'
According to Gibson, every guitarist goes through the experience of feeling foolish when they play their first ever chord.
However, the electric guitar manufacturer said that while having no knowledge about how to play can be very hard at first, musicians should stick at the instrument because they already know what benefits they could enjoy later on.
"The initial agony of knowing nothing just doesn't match up with the imagined ecstasy of ripping into a guitar right off the bat," it commented.
Gibson added that aspiring electric guitar players should be heartened by the experiences of people like Frank Zappa, who was among the many musicians to get their first fragments of knowledge from chord books.
This comes shortly after Status Quo guitarist Francis Rossi told the Cambridge News that his playing has improved significantly over the last few years, partly because he has started practising regularly.Posted on 10 Aug 2009 11:30 to category : Instruments News
