Electric guitars 'sought by youngsters this Christmas'
Electric guitars are high on the wish-lists for many children this Christmas.
According to research carried by the Toy Retailers Association, the musical instrument is set to be among the top-selling items this Christmas.
In a list of the 'Dream Dozen' gifts for boys and girls, the electric guitar was named as one potentially perfect gift along with Buzz Lightyear and Barbie figures, while some children are after a puppy this festive season, reports the Scotsman.
Gary Grant, chairman of the TRA, said: "With licensed toys combining the fun and familiarity of popular characters as well as family games enjoying a resurgence, the list of top toys is a truly eclectic mix that will appeal to all ages."
Earlier this year, a BBC Worldwide survey found that 17 per cent of boys are currently learning how to play the guitar, while nine per cent of girls own one of the instruments.
