Emeli Sande could release new album in 2014
Glyn Aikins, Virgin Record A&R director, confirmed that the Scottish singer is looking to work on new material while she is on tour in the US later this year.
Speaking to Music Week, the official explained that Universal, which owns Virgin Records, will focus on making Sande a success across the pond during the tour and then plans could begin for a new album.
Aikins told the news provider: "She's got to take some time to organise her thoughts and start writing songs for her next record. It may happen quickly. It may take some time, but I think she would want another album to come out perhaps next year."
Sande has enjoyed huge success over the past 18 months following the release of her debut album, Our Version Of Events.
The record went multi-platinum in the UK as well as scoring the Brit Award for British Album of the Year. Sande herself has performed at some of the biggest stages including the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.
