Epiphone releases Tribute Les Paul
Built in solid mahogany and maple, the Tribute Les Paul includes a choice of either the traditional 1960s d-shaped neck, or an asymmetrical design which features contours that fit the hands of most guitarists.
Working in Epiphone's New York factory, Les Paul created the first ever electric guitar, and since then the guitars carrying his name have been known for their "fat" tone, "hot" pickup and sustaining capacity, according to Rolling Stone magazine.
While he will be best remembered for his skills as a designer, creator and producer, Paul also had a long and successful pop-jazz music career, releasing a string of hits through the 50s and early 60s both with his wife, singer Mary Ford, and as a solo artist.
