Eric Clapton pulls out of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame gig
Electric guitar legend Eric Clapton has had to pull out of a gig on Friday for medical reasons.
The Fender Stratocaster player, who made his name in bands such as The Yardbirds and Cream, recently had an operation to remove gallstones.
According to Clapton's publicist, he is now recuperating and is therefore unable to appear at this week's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert in New York.
Jeff Beck will take his place on the bill, which also includes acts such as Stevie Wonder, U2, Metallica and Aretha Franklin.
Beck and Clapton are currently scheduled to perform a number of joint gigs at the O2 Arena in London next year.
Clapton's website revealed that these dates and other performances in 2010 will take place as planned.
Meanwhile, the Eric Clapton fan club is giving followers of the electric guitar player the chance to stay updated with the latest developments via Twitter.
Subscribers will receive a tweet every time news is added to the Whereseric.com website.Posted on 28 Oct 2009 13:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
