Esquire names 'craziest' drummers of all time
According to the publication, former Cream drummer Ginger Baker takes top prize for both his astonishing technique and offstage antics, making him a living legend in the world of drumming.
Esquire stated: "He introduced a level of complexity and fearless experimentation to the form that he more than matched offstage."
Set to feature in a documentary of his life entitled Beware of Mr Baker, the 73-year-old has left an indelible mark on the world of music.
He was well known for his eccentric style and it was this which set him apart from the crowd, but an array of other drum superstars also featured in Esquire's all-time greatest list, including Led Zeppelin's John Bonham, The Who's Keith Moon, Topper Headon of The Clash and Motley Crue's Tommy Lee.
Meanwhile, NME reports drum master extraordinaire Dave Grohl will be hitting the skins once more with new band RDGLDGRN - a Washington trio who met the Foo Fighters and Nirvana legend while recording at Sound City Studios last year.
