Everything Everything drummer explains band's writing process
Michael Spearman, the man on the drums in hotly-tipped band Everything Everything, has explained how the band come up with their songs.
The group's songs are notoriously hard to categorise and Spearman told the Yorkshire Evening Post lead singer Jon Higgs deliberately tries to avoid sounding like any other band when they are writing tracks.
Spearman said that while Higgs is often the band member who has the initial idea for a song, the whole group contribute to its creation after he has come up with a rough version on the guitar or piano.
"He will he make a demo on his laptop and bring it into the rehearsal room where we take it apart and try to make it playable for four human beings," the drummer explained.
The band are touring the country this month, playing shows in Glasgow, Southampton, London, Leeds and Manchester along the way.
Everything Everything also have two gigs in New York lined up on October 22nd and 23rd.
