Ex-Beatle plays on Fran Healey solo album
Fran Healey has recruited Sir Paul McCartney to play bass guitar on his upcoming album, it has been revealed.
The Travis frontman is working with a number of artists including Neko Case on what will be his first ever solo LP.
However, he has pulled off what he has described as "one of the biggest coups" in getting a former Beatle on board.
"I'm not sure what non-McCartney songs he's played bass on, but I couldn't think of many," Healey commented.
The album currently has the working title of Wreckorder, although no release date has yet been confirmed.
Healey said he is making a solo album because he wanted to have a holiday from Travis and try something different.
This comes shortly after it was confirmed that Sir Paul is to play bass on the new album by former bandmate Ringo Starr.
Ringo recently described McCartney as a genius and an "incredible" bass guitar player.Posted on 5 Jan 2010 15:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
