Fans praise late Rolling Stones guitarist
Brian Jones has been praised by fans of the late musician following the 40th anniversary of his death.
Many of his fans have marked the anniversary by visiting his grave in Cheltenham, including his former girlfriend Pat Andrews.
Speaking to the Forester, she commented: "It's great to see so many people here for Brian.
"He really was the leader and founder of The Rolling Stones and he's sort of been written out of history."
Jones acquired a reputation as a talented and versatile multi-instrumentalist during his career, as he can be heard playing harmonica on The Rolling Stones' cover of Not Fade Away and sitar on Paint It Black.
He also made a guest appearance on You Know My Name (Look Up The Number) by The Beatles, on which he performed an alto saxophone solo.Posted on 6 Jul 2009 16:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
