Fender announce new signing of master luthier
Ferguson has joined Fender's Research and Development (R&D) team where he will offer his expertise on matters relating to acoustic product lines.
This will include refinement of existing products as well as assisting in the creation of new ones.
"We are very pleased to welcome Ren to the R&D team," said Keith Chapman, senior vice president of R&D for FMIC.
"His experience and long history of innovation, high quality and expert craftsmanship will prove to be invaluable to our R&D and manufacturing departments."
Mr Ferguson, who gave 25 years of duty to Gibson's acoustic guitar division, was applauded for his contribution to the company.
"Ferguson has been an integral part of arguably one of the best periods of acoustic guitar building for Gibson," said Henry Juszkiewicz, chairman and chief executive officer of Gibson Guitar.
"His vision has been and will continue to be central to the success of Gibson acoustics."
