Fender releases Eric Clapton tribute Stratocaster
The company has announced it will be releasing the Fender Custom Shop Eric Clapton "Brownie" Tribute Stratocaster. Creators have said that it will go on sale through Guitar Centre on March 21st 2013 as part of the Eric Clapton Crossroads Collection.
While music fanatics will be keen to get their hands on this axe they will have to be quick as Fender said that it will only be making 100 editions for distribution worldwide.
It has been created by Clapton's personal master builder, Todd Krause and is as close to the original axe as possible.
The original "Brownie" was made famous for being used during the iconic guitarist's unforgettable track Layla which featured on the Derek and the Dominos album.
Not only will buyers be getting a very special guitar but when they purchase the instrument they will be helping to provide funds for the Crossroads Centre Antigua. The Caribbean drug and alcohol addiction treatment facility was set up by Clapton in 1997.
