Electric guitar player Robin Pecknold has revealed that he wants to leave the mistakes and fluffs on Fleet Foxes' new album.

The Seattle-based five-piece band are scheduled to enter the studio next year and plan to record the album very quickly.

Speaking to Pitchfork, Pecknold said this is because some of his favourite records are ones which sound they like were recorded in a matter of hours.

As a result, he plans to use lots of first takes on the final product and not iron out all the flaws.

Pecknold said: "I want there to be guitar mistakes.

"I want there to be not totally flawless vocals."

The guitarist added that the band have been spending most of this year touring and writing new material.

Fleet Foxes released their self-titled debut last year, which included the minor UK hit single White Winter Hymnal.

Pecknold said the band's next album will be less poppy than their earlier recordings.
