Former Lostprophets drummer to release solo album
Ilan Rubin, the man who used to be on the drum kit in both Lostprophets and Nine Inch Nails, is bringing out a new solo album.
He has recorded the LP under the moniker The New Regime and is releasing Speak Through the White Noise digitally on April 4th.
The drummer said he feels the completed work transcends genres and should have broad appeal.
"It's hard to narrow down what the album sounds like because there's truly something in there for everybody," Rubin explained.
"From the mellow to the grand, eerie to heavy, it's all there."
He added that he is proud of Speak Through the White Noise, which was recorded over a period of two years in Los Angeles and San Diego as a follow-up to 2008's Coup.
According to The New Regime's official Facebook page, the chief theme of the album is as a social commentary on the way in which the entertainment industry and the media instil paranoia and fear in the population at large.
