Gabriella Cilmi's 'disco-inspired' album
Gabriella Cilmi has a new sound on her second album.
The 'Sweet About Me' singer, who previously supported Sugababes and James Blunt on their tours, has revealed her new record takes her in "a new direction".
She said: "There are lots of uptempo funk and disco-inspired numbers designed to make people groove - this record's going to me people groove more than my first album, 'Lessons To Be Learned'.
"There's light and shade to the album though, some more sexy tracks and a few surprises too. One track has a kind of yodel in it!"
The Australian-born singer also worked with Girls Aloud hitmakers Xenomania on one album track.
She told Digital Spy: "It's a b***dy unreal track called 'Hearts Don't Lie' that could be one of my favourites. The chorus is like the Bee Gees and the bass line is so funky! I also worked with Greg Kurstin, The Invisible Men and Dallas Austin."
Gabriella, 18, also claimed she was "proud" of the song 'Love Me 'Cause You Want To' as she got to produce it with her band.Posted on 13 Jan 2010 07:30 to category : Music News
