Gavin DeGraw back home after being attacked
The singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw has been released from hospital a day after he was brutally attacked in the early hours of the morning.
DeGraw, 34, suffered a concussion, broken nose, cuts and bruises and black eyes after a "group of assailants" beat him up in New York.
Stumbling away after the attack he was then hit by a cab in a separate incident.
Following this, a spokesperson said: "Gavin DeGraw is currently recovering and in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital where he was taken late Sunday night by ambulance after he was attacked by a group of assailants."
Taking to the social networking site, the musician reassured fans that despite of his injuries he was back in the comfort of his own home.
He said: "Hi my friends. Honestly, I don't remember much. I only know I can recover from here. Thank you for all your genuine concern. I love you guys."
The attack occurred after the star had left a club that he owns with his brother.
DeGraw first came to fame in 2004 when his song I Don't Want To Be was selected as the theme song for the teen-drama One Tree Hill.
His new album Sweeter comes out in September.
