George Harrison 'used Fender Stratocaster on many great Beatles songs'
A Fender Stratocaster was George Harrison's musical instrument of choice during many of the years he was in The Beatles.
His relationship with the instrument has been remembered by blogger John Crowley, writing on the Share My Guitar website.
Mr Crowley stated that Harrison had a rare blue 1961 Fender Stratocaster, which was first used on the track Nowhere Man.
Harrison then employed the guitar during the Rubber Soul recording sessions and the satellite broadcast of All You Need is Love.
The Stratocaster was then used during the I am The Walrus segment of the Magical Mystery Tour television special recorded by the group, with Harrison going on to use the instrument in his later solo work as well.
He told the Gibson website that The Beatles' star became a "champion" of the instrument after first hearing Paul McCartney play it.Posted on 14 May 2010 11:25 to category : Band / Celebrity News
