Gibson praises 'twangy' electric guitars
The myth that Gibson electric guitars do not offer a twangy sound has been dismissed by the company.
However, the firm has insisted that they are just as adept at coping with more countrified types of music.
Steve Earle, one of the drivers of the New Country movement in the 1980s, was cited as one example, as he has regularly played an Epiphone Casino during his career.
"Earle has never been short of twang, packed in good and tight with a memorable lyric or two," Gibson commented.
The manufacturer also noted that he has avoided sticking to any "preconceived notions" about playing country on the electric guitar.
Gibson added that its instruments are highly diverse, as they can twang and jangle for one person, and sizzle and burn for another.Posted on 25 Jun 2009 11:34 to category : Instruments News
