Gibson set to unveil new Jackson Browne acoustic guitar
The musical instrument manufacturer is to unveil the guitar at the NAMM show later this month, after it was developed over a five-year period with the assistance of Browne.
Browne is well-known as a collector of Gibson guitars and has used his expertise to help design an instrument similar to the Roy Smeck model of the 1930s.
According to the Gibson blog, the acoustic guitar has the ability to deliver a pure and traditional sound, as well as performing flawlessly in large live venues.
"The Jackson Browne Signature model is handmade and features an innovative acoustic pickup that gives an unparalleled reproduction of the guitar's sound when amplified, with exceptional gain before feedback capability," it added.
Its look has also been carefully worked on, with a red spruce top and English walnut featuring on the back and sides.
Browne is currently preparing for a solo acoustic tour of the US which is due to get underway next month.
Across February and March, the star will play gigs in cities and towns such as Santa Cruz, Sacramento, Phoenix and Thunder Bay.Posted on 10 Jan 2011 15:00 to category : Instruments News
