Gibson to launch limited edition Firebrand X electric guitar
The wonderfully titled Firebird X, which retains much of the integrity of the Firebrand range, is kitted with enough technology to power a spaceship.
This includes motorist "robot" tuners that can tune the instrument without the need for human interference, Bluetooth, "the most radical multi-function pickups ever created", the ability to interface with foot controllers without preamps or special adapters and the capacity to run third party apps.
Beyond the technological, the music instrument is, as ever, a gorgeous piece of quality craftsmanship that looks the rock and roll superstar part.
The lightweight electric guitar has been constructed from hand-sorted swamp ash, with a rock maple neck and curly maple fingerboard.
On its website, Gibson writes: "The guitar is a bit more than six pounds in total weight. Special resonant chambers not only decrease total weight, but also allow acoustic-like tones and increased overall sustain. The guitar is louder than a typical solid body with substantial tone from lowest bass note to highest treble note."
