Glastonbury Tickets Sell Out In Record Time
Thousands of hopeful festival-goers logged on to ticket booking site See Tickets on Sunday morning to snap up the remaining tickets for the festival, which sold out in a record 1 hour 27 minutes.
See Tickets announced that at peak they were selling approximately 3000 tickets a minute. 15,000 coach packages to Worthy Farm had already been released and sold out in half an hour.
Due to high demand, the site experienced technichal difficulties in the first half an hour of tickets being released, causing frustration for many hopeful Glasto attendees.
In a statement from Michael and Emily Eavis ,they say, "we have, once again, been blown away by the numbers of people who were hoping to join us at the festival."
The Glastonbury organisers went on to explain, "we genuinely try to make the ticket system as fair as it can be, but when demand outstrips supply, it is an unfortunate inevitability that some people will be left disappointed."
None of the acts for 2014 have been confirmed yet, but favourites to headline include Fleetwood Mac and David Bowie after it was announced that the act would be one that had never headlined before.
