Glasvegas set for Scottish tour
Electric guitar band Glasvegas have announced they will make their live return in January with a series of intimate gigs across Scotland.
The indie group have spent much of 2010 recording their second album and have decided they want to showcase their new material to fans in their native country, reports NME.
Shows are to take place in Orkney, Wick, Forres, Oban, Troon, Hawick and Dunfermline ahead of a full UK tour that is pencilled in for spring 2011.
"We love playing live," they said. "We love Scotland. We wanted to discover more of our own country doing what we are passionate about."
The band's debut album was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 2009 following the critical acclaim it received after its release.
Glasvegas were up against the likes of Florence and The Machine, Kasabian, Bat for Lashes and La Roux for the honour, which eventually went to surprise winner Speech Debelle.
