Goldfrapp give greatest hits to LED
Goldfrapp played a rare greatest hits set during the closing day of the London Electronic Dance (LED) Festival on Saturday (28.08.10).
The band's singer, Alison Goldfrapp, donned an unusual black jacket and sparkly leggings for the performance, which included a tour of the group's greatest hits, including 'Rocket', 'Ooh La La' and 'Strict Machine' with crowds cheering through the set, despite a downpour.
One onlooker said: "The rain didn't dampen anyone's spirits. The set started a little slow with some of their lesser known singles but by the end the crowd was dancing along and singing all the words.
"Strangely though, they didn't perform anything from their third folk album - for the crowd they struck strictly to their electronic material.
"Alison seemed a little nervous at times, only managing the occasional, 'Thank you,' to the crowd, but the hits kept everyone enjoying themselves."
Other bands to play at Victoria Park as part of the new two-day festival included Friendly Fires, who put on an energetic set and Aphex Twin, who was joined onstage for a special performance by South African rap trio Die Antwoord.Posted on 31 Aug 2010 16:30 to category : Music News
