Graham Coxon: Blur fans will have to wait for new material
Electric guitar player Graham Coxon has revealed that Blur are meeting up regularly to record material - but said it is unlikely the indie band will be releasing a new album in the near future.
Speaking to NME, Coxon explained the group have developed a routine in which they will meet up when they "feel like it", recording the results of their time together in the studio.
However, the lack of a firm structure to the work means there are no concrete plans to bring out any new material.
"I suppose it might turn into an LP in six years or something," Coxon said. "[We are] meeting up every now and then … maybe turning the tape recorder on and jamming around a few ideas."
The electric guitar player is busy with his own work, with a pair of solo records being planned.
He is also bringing out new song Desire - which features Paloma Faith - in April.
Blur frontman Damon Albarn also has plans away from the band this year, with the star set to collaborate with Gorillaz's Jamie Hewlett and director Rufus Norris on a new theatre production that will premiere at the 2011 Manchester International Festival.
