Green Day Smash Emirates Stadium Record Gig Attendance
The pop punk trio played the home of Arsenal FC on Saturday (June 1st) evening and became the first band or artist to sell out all tickets for the venue.
This feat managed to beat the likes of Coldplay and Bruce Springsteen who have "sold-out" the Emirates in the past but, due to different stage layouts and seating configurations, failed to reach the 60,000 mark.
Green Day played a hit-packed set including new material from their latest ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tre! trilogy along with a raft of classics such as Basket Case, When I Come Around and American Idiot.
Billie Joe Armstrong and co are currently in the midst of a European tour but are set to return to UK shores over the August bank holiday (August 23rd to 26th) to play Reading and Leeds festival.
It marks the first time the band have played the event since their headline show in 2004.
