Guitar player's gig threatened by bad weather
Acoustic guitar player Frank Turner only just made it on stage this week after the wintry weather threw his travel plans into chaos.
The musician had been performing in Paris and was planning to travel back for a gig in London on the train when all Eurostar services were cancelled.
Turner ended up forking out for a business class flight and only just managed to arrive at the venue in time.
As a result, he had to perform as soon as he entered the building and without a soundcheck.
"The show had been sold out for months," he told the Press Association.
"It's my homecoming Christmas show, so it was really important to me."
Turner added that the travel chaos he endured was "incredibly frustrating" and admitted he had considered cancelling the gig.
Eurostar's services were disrupted after snow led to technical failures in some of its trains, which led to thousands of passengers being trapped in the Channel Tunnel for up to 15 hours.
However, services have now been resumed and the backlog of passengers is gradually clearing.Posted on 23 Dec 2009 14:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
