Guitar signed by Black Sabbath and Spinal Tap goes up for auction

The Steinberger axe has been signed by artists such as Guns N' Roses and Black Sabbath.
Great deals on musical instruments
A Steinberger electric guitar signed by some of the biggest names in rock and metal is set to go under the hammer in Shrewsbury.

The axe dons the signatures of the likes of Guns N' Roses, Black Sabbath, Spinal Tap and Swedish musician Yngwie Malmsteen, and is predicted to have rockers flocking to the Shropshire fine art auction held today (May 1st).

Experts value the guitar at around £500 after a vendor won the rare item as a first prize in a California radio station competition, Shropshire Live reports.

It will go up for bids alongside a range of toys, musical instruments and car mascots at the Shrewsbury auction house halls.

The distinctive guitar was designed and manufactured by Ned Steinberger between 1998 and 2000 and has no head with the strings being locked at the top and bottom meaning that it cannot go out of tune.

Steinberger instruments range from the electric guitar to bass guitar, double bass, omni bass, violin, viola and cello, all coming in a multitude of custom finishes.
