Hertford musician attempts to play guitar for 24 hours
Rob Clydesdale, from Port Hill, takes on the guitarathon from Monday February 25th to Tuesday February 26th all in the name of generating funds for the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA), the Hertfordshire Mercury reports.
The choice of charity has been poignant as Mr Clydesdale's partner, Nicola Vincent, had a back operation in the past, and he felt supporting this charity would provide a real boost for it.
He told the news provider: "I've played the guitar for years and we wanted to do something to raise awareness of what a great charity it is. Nicola had her operation two years ago and the effect it's had on her has been tremendous."
However, it is not just a case of raising money for charity because if Mr Clydesdale can break through the 24 hours and 55 minutes barrier then he will go into the world record books.
The current holder of the longest guitar solo record is US musician David DiDonato who shredded his way through the previous title of 24 hours and 18 minutes in May 2012.
