In this month's Play Music Pickup, the Ibanez RGA42 electric guitar has received a fantastic review.

Ibanez are well known for being one of the biggest guitar manufacturers for the virtuoso guitar market.

Famous guitarists using Ibanez include both Joe Satriani and Steve Vai.

The Ibanez RGA42 is a mid-priced guitar, that Ibanez describe as providing "pure tone free of noise".

The RGA42 is billed as being successful for its simplicity.

Instead of using the typical Floyd Rose bridge associated with the brand, Ibanez have instead opted for the fixed Gibraltar bridge, and provide a slickly designed guitar finished in black gloss.

The two LZ3 humbucker pickups provide a "fat sound with good clarity perfect for distortion" – both are characteristics common to Ibanez guitars.

In their review, Play Music Pickup noticed the top-notch components, great playability and solid 'metal' tones found with this guitar.

Coming in at a mid-range price in the electric guitar market, the RGA42 should be a popular guitar this Summer.
