Iggy Pop LP for May

Candy singer's new collection is called Après.
Iggy Pop: set to sing Michelle.
His music already includes the likes of songs Candy and Kick It – and now singer Iggy Pop is set to bring out a new collection of tracks, Après.

The record will feature tributes to other artists, it has emerged. "Many of these songs are in French, probably because it is French culture which has most stubbornly resisted the mortal attacks of the Anglo-American music machine," Iggy has commented.

Set to hit shelves in May, the record's name translates as "after" from the French. It has songs on it such as La Javanaise and Les Passantes. Iggy's last record was called Préliminaires.

French songstress Edith Piaf and Liverpool guitar band The Beatles are among those whose music Iggy is set to lend his own interpretation to.

As well as the song Michelle, by The Beatles, numbers such as Only The Lonely and Et Si Tu N'existais Pas are also set to appear on the "Après" record.

Well Did You Evah! and The Passenger are among Iggy's less recent songs, while his albums have included Brick by Brick and The Idiot.ADNFCR-2133-ID-801348630-ADNFCR Posted on 25 Apr 2012 10:45 to category : Band / Celebrity News
