Interpol replace bass guitar player
Bass guitar player Dave Pajo has left Interpol following a short spell in the indie band.
The musician replaced Carlos Dengler as the group's bassist last year but has decided to quit Interpol due to personal reasons.
"I'll be taking a break from touring to focus on family. There are no personal, artistic or health reasons - it's really as simple as that," said Pajo.
The musician added that he will miss the rest of the group and their fans, remaining as a friend to the band.
In a statement on Interpol's official website, the rest of the members said they will miss Pajo's presence.
He is to be replaced on the bass guitar by Brad Truax, who has worked with acts including Animal Collective, Soldiers of Fortune and Gang Gang Dance in the past.
Interpol's first gig with Truax in their ranks will be on March 3rd in Hamburg.
Their European tour will take them to the UK later this month, with their first show in Britain happening in Bournemouth on March 18th.
Further gigs are planned in Bristol, Cambridge, Leeds and London, before the group jet off to Russia for performances in St Petersburg and Moscow.
