Introducing Rocketjuice and the Moon
Damon Albarn from Britpop titans Blur, Flea from US rock band the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Tony Allen have joined forces in a bid to change the music industry forever.
Their self-titled debut studio album will be released next year and has everyone excited about how the music will sound.
Speaking to the Irish Times, Albarn said: "The stuff that I’m going to be playing on these shows with Tony and Flea is from this record we’ve been making, Rocketjuice and The Moon.
"Someone in Lagos did the sleeve design and that's the name he gave it, which suits me because trying to find a name for another band is always tricky."
Albarn, who recently kissed and made up with his arch-rival Noel Gallagher, is known for his prodigious music output, having recently composed an opera based on the life of John Dee, an Elizabethan polymath.
He also revealed how he is enjoying collaborating with other musicians at this point in his career.
"I suppose I've mellowed into it. That’s the right word, mellowed. I’ve matured into having an appreciation for and an ear for all voices," he told the news provider.
That for me is necessary, because I like to learn. It's like going back to school every time I meet a new musician."
