JHS Release New Signature Guitar Pedals- Ruby Red and the Calhoun.
The Ruby Red was created out of a collaboration with artist, producer and writer Butch Walker. Most renowned for his breakout work in the Marvelous 3, aswell as his long list of producing successes with: Pete Yorn, Pink, The Academy Is, Weezer, Panic! At The Disco, Taylor Swift, Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry, Keith Urban, Fallout Boy, Ryan Adams as well as number of other groundbreaking artists.
Butch needed a pedal that could do everything he needed and do it in the simplest and easiest way possible. Butch requested that the pedal had to respond like an amp and feel like an extension of the amp. With this is mind, JHS set about the manufacture of the Ruby Red.
The left side of the pedal is SuperBolt overdrive. It features a volume, tone and drive control that gives the user the ability to uniquely shape their sound to their own personal preference. The right side of the pedal is a custom two-stage boost circuit that is ideal for slamming in the front end of the SuperBolt or hitting your amp for natural breakup. Irrespective of the type of music the user plays the Ruby Red acts as a powerful tone shaping tool that will offer the user everything from tone enhancement to boost, overdrive, distortion and fuzz.
The other member of this dynamic duo is the Calhoun. The Calhoun is a collaborative signature pedal designed for legendary guitarist, writer and producer Mike Campbell. Mike is most known for his role in the iconic Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers but additionally has worked with the likes of Don Henley, Bob Dylan , Stevie Nicks, George Harrison, Jackson Browne, Brian Setzer, Johnny Cash and Fleetwood Mac.
Catering to Mike's unique specifications the Calhoun acts a 2 in 1 overdrive/fuzz pedal that is designed around Mike's requirements for live and studio performances. With two foot switches, the pedal is split from left to right. The left side of the pedal is the drive portion of the pedal with Volume, Drive, Treble whereas the right side of the pedal is the fuzz portion, with Volume, Fuzz, Bias, and EQ controls.A featured toggle switch allows the user to choose the order of the effects when stacked and have complete creative control over their desired sound.
