Jack White: Rejoining the White Stripes would be strange
Electric guitar player Jack White has revealed that the White Stripes may reform in the near-future.
The band has not performed since 2007 when drummer Meg White could not tour because of "acute anxiety problems" but Jack said she is close to overcoming the issue.
While the band have been on hiatus, the electric guitar player has remained busy, recording albums and touring with his other groups The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather.
Speaking to the Telegraph, Jack stated that returning to the White Stripes would be a strange experience and like joining a "whole new band".
But he added that his time away with other projects could also provide inspiration.
"The bands all influence one another and that's a really good thing," he said.
Last month, Jack, who is taking a turn on the drum kit in The Dead Weather, said that group was working well together because of the shared commitment to songwriting duties.
He told Triple J the group is already close to finishing their second album.Posted on 14 Mar 2010 09:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
