Jack White 'a guitar hero for the young', says Jimmy Page
Led Zeppelin's electric guitar player Jimmy Page has described Jack White as a hero to young musicians.
Speaking to BBC 6 Music, the rock legend stated that White's various musical ventures are always worth checking out because he never disappoints.
This, he stated, has helped to make him a highly regarded figure among young electric guitar players in particular.
Page said White is very similar to U2 guitarist The Edge in that his guitar playing is very easily identifiable.
"You can recognise their work immediately when you hear it," he commented.
"I think that's the key to what we are all there for."
Page recently worked with White and The Edge on the upcoming documentary film It Might Get Loud, in which they discuss their electric guitar playing and the history of the instrument.
The Gibson Les Paul player recently confirmed that he plans to go back on the road next year in order to showcase new material.Posted on 23 Dec 2009 12:02 to category : Instruments News
