Jack White collaborates with Danger Mouse
Prolific electric guitar player Jack White has lent his support to a new project from maverick producer Danger Mouse, who is otherwise known as Brian Burton.
Burton, who was part of Gnarls Barkley and has worked with the likes of Gorillaz, Beck, The Rapture and U2, has been working for the past five years on Rome, a project based on his love of Italian film soundtracks from the 1960s.
The work is a collaboration with composer Daniele Luppi and features guest vocals from White and Norah Jones, reports the Guardian.
"For the lead vocalists, I definitely wanted a man and a woman. The female vocal needed to be soft, not polarising. But the male needed to have a bit more angst to it," Burton explained of his choice of the pair.
As with Danger Mouse, White has become well-known for the variety of his work, with the musician featuring in The White Stripes, The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather.
