The label to which Jack White is currently signed to have made the ambitious decision to attempt to be the first phonographic recording in space. Third Man Records will be streaming the entire event live and will be hosting several 'launch parties' at Cass Corridor and various Nashville locations. The event is in honour of the labels 7th year anniversary and will feature a gold-plated 12" master of Carl Sagan's (A renowned astrophysicist)'A Glorious Dawn' being played inside the confines of the Icarus craft.

Both parties will feature live performances from bands, exclusive memorabilia and a limited edition 12" gold vinyl copy of the 3 millionth record pressed.

For those of you who may happen to be a bit closer to the event, it will begin at 11am EST/10am CST with takeoff time of 12pm EST/11am CST. The lineups for the events are to be announced this week. 'A Glorious Dawn' will be available for purchase including other limited, exclusive LP offerings.
