James Blunt 'writes more positive songs on electric guitar'
Solo star James Blunt has put the more positive sound of his latest album down to writing songs with an electric guitar.
Speaking to the Herald Sun, the singer-songwriter explained that he had previously only written songs using an acoustic guitar, a habit he changed for the recording of Some Kind of Trouble.
He added this had an impact on the sounds he made, meaning that his latest LP is a move away from the darker qualities of second album All the Lost Souls.
"It's been nice to close the door on that and open the door to optimism. It makes me feel like a teenager and I'm not a teenager," Blunt said.
The singer explained that he has been pleased with the "remarkably positive" reaction to Some Kind of Trouble in the press, especially as he reads the majority of the reviews of his work.
Blunt has a busy schedule for 2011 lined up, with the guitarist set to embark on a UK tour during February and March.
He has also been booked for gigs in France, Belgium, Germany and Australia in the first five months of next year.
